Choose petrochemical free – every time!
One of the very first balms I ever bought was Lucas Paw Paw Ointment. Reading the container gives no indication of the fact that it contains petrochemicals (which is also what Vaseline and Vicks Rub are made of by the way). So, I thought it was a safe alternative and I guess it is fair to say that Lucas Paw Paw Ointment was the first instance of green-washing that I ever encountered. I get annoyed when people rave about the product when there are better and healthier options around for you and baby.
One such product is Suvana Certified Organic Paw Paw and Honey Balm. At just $11.90, the price for this wonderful healing tube of goodness makes it a must-have for every handbag and baby bag. It’s 100% petrochemical free, organic certified by eco-cert and contains more of the active ingredient fermented paw paw than its green-washing counterpart Lucas Paw Paw Ointment. I know which one I’d rather put on my skin!
It has so many healing uses as a local topical application:

“I stopped using Lucas Pawpaw when a friend at coffee group pointed out that it was petroleum based (so thats what that smell is!). I’ve been using the Suvana on Master 2 for a few weeks and any time he has a scratch, bruise or nappy rash etc, I put a little on and like majic it’s gone. They need to bring out a bigger tube!”
